GRANT TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING
May 4, 2026
Meeting called to order by Supervisor, T Torrey at 6:00pm
Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance
Roll Call: Present T. Torrey, J. Emry, B. Freeman, V. Jennett, Excused A. Bettis
AGENDA for the April 2026: Motion to accept the April minutes by T. Torrey and seconded by J. Emry- All approve
MINUTES for the April meeting – Motion to accept by V. Jennett and seconded by J. Emry – All approved TRESURY REPORT was given by V. Jennett, motion made and seconded by T. Torrey – All approved
BILLS PAYABLE motion was made by B. Freeman to pay those bills listed for April and seconded by J. Emry – All approve
FIRE REPORT was given by Fire Chief J. Brink. Motion by V. Jennett and seconded by J. Emry – All approved
PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT was given by B. Freeman that the Cell Phone Tower was voted down by the Planning Commission board. Motion by B. Freeman was made to accept the report and seconded by V. Jennett – All approved
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR REPORT was submitted by M. Serwa (absent). Motion to accept was by J. Emry and seconded by B. Freeman – All approved
BLIGHT ORDINANCE update was given by N. Anderson. T. Torrey asked that the board would approve the use of our current Blight Ordinance as we move forward to enforce the Township Blight concerns. Motion to accept the report and to accept the current blight ordinance was made by V. Jennett and seconded by J. Emry – All approved
CORRESPONDANCE- None
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Carole Blue reported that she had spoken to D. Brown from the tower company about considering locating the Tower to property of the Sand Lake Association.
2. She also asked the Township for a donation to the Sand Lake Festival to be used towards the children’s games and activities. Motion was made by V. Jennett to donate $500.00 to the association per their request seconded by B. Freeman – All approved
Peggy Fowler shared pictures that she had taken referring to Blight. N. Anderson will review and act upon as needed. Reported that large tree down on Genesse Street – need to be looked at.
Bill McKenzie asked if anything could be done regarding the camera light in the meeting room. It is bright and comes on frequently. Will need to check with Herrington Services to see.
2. Bill also wanted to remind everyone, especially on the lake, if they have some kind of Lawn service completed at their property to not allow them to use Phosphorus Fertilizers. There are fertilizers that are Phosphorus.

3. People are Buring on Saginaw Street, Bike and waking trails. They leave the debris and need to clean the area after the burn.
Lori Muldoon reported that on Iroquois Trail the curb has been torn up by the winter plow truck. Will mention to the road commission regarding.
Todd reported that the signs that were installed by the Interlake Pool have been removed by someone. It is also reported that people are dumping Leaves, Ashes, Crushed concrete in the pool again. Look at new signs.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Shared the Blight Complaint form which has been updated and will appear on the website – reminder that it will need to be signed by the complainant.
Todd reported on Kaylin Collins and the horses on Imperial – she will be moving within the given time frame. She has a place with 7 acres west of M-65 on M-55. Glad for her.
Todd reported the Road Projects and the quotes from the Road Commission regarding the roads within the Township that will need to have work completed for. Todd made Motin to move forward with the proposals and J. Emry seconded – All approved
NEW BUSINESS
Salary Resolutions – All of the salary motion were read and offered by a board member and seconded. The board did do a roll count vote. Please see the resolutions that are on file for further information.
Funding of Sting – Tabled to next month to request a report.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Darla Arn – Reported that people are dumping leaves and debris into the easement of Fletcher. Also reported the NO Parking Sign has been removed.
Lori Muldoon – Asked about the AP checks that are still showing on the month report(old) – V. Jennett be following threw through with these.
Josh Guan – asked about Solar Pannels within the township and T. Torrey reported back that there have been no requests to the Township regarding anything to do with them in the area.
