GRANT TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING

 February 6th, 2026

Meeting was called to order by Supervisor, Todd Torrey, at 10:00 a.m.

Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance. (24)

ROLL CALL:  Present- Emry, Jennett, Torrey, Freeman/ Excused: Burgess

AGENDA for Feb 6th:  Motion by Emry seconded by Torrey to approve agenda as printed.

      All ayes

MINUTES FOR December 1st regular meeting – motion to approve made by Emry, seconded by Torrey. All ayes

TREASURY REPORT: Motion by Jennett seconded by Torrey to acknowledge and file Treasury report.

All ayes.

BILLS PAYABLE: Motioned by Torrey seconded by Emry to approve bills for month of Sepetember 2025. All ayes

FIRE REPORT: On file.

PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT: Freeman reported that both zoning and master plan are getting worked on still.Motion to acknowledge made by Emry, seconded by Freeman.All ayes.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR REPORT: Motion to approve Zoning administrator report from Spetember 2025. Motion made by Jennett, seconded by Burgess. All ayes

BLIGHT ORDINANCE ENFORCER’S REPORT: Motion by Emry seconded by Jennet to approve    All ayes

 Budget Admendments- Motion by emry  to approve all on sheet  ( filed) , seconded by Jennett

PUBLIC COMMENT:  6:34 pm

  1. Todd Henry- question about blight report wording
  2. Bill Mckenzie- chip seal for roads, the oversizedside by side are ruiningroads

UNFINSHED BUSINESS:

  1. Update on GIS update- working on still
  2. Update on recycling with county millage- did a contract in support of
  3. Update on horses- working on solution

NEW BUISNESS AGENDA:

  1. Poverty Exemption for 2026- all ayes
  2. Meeting Dates and Financial Institution for 2026
  3. Resolution for M-55 Recreational Pure Michigan By- Way Designation
  4. Fire Truck replacement- Tanker  – approved check to take to see if truck was worth buying
  5. Looking in prices for refuse for all aspects
  6. Estimates on garbage done by garbage truck- motion made to accept bid by Serwa, either letting serwa do all the work, or giving the price of Serwas quote  ( $2400) to owner
  7. Gambling license for Sand Lake Community Center – all ayes
  8. Insurance – motion by Torrey to use Acrisure for regular  insurance and TCA for  workman comp- seconded by Jennett
